Plot[]

The film opens in 2006. Baron Mordo (Ejiofor) is shown sitting in a cave, his eyes closed. The Ancient One (Swinton) appears. Mordo turns and greets his mentor. The Ancient One, however, is not happy. She calls out Mordo, saying she knows that he was attempting to summon Dormammu (Jones). Mordo denies it, but the Ancient One claims that she sensed his presence. Mordo's eyes narrow and attempts to attack the Ancient One. The Ancient One easily defeats Mordo, claiming that she was wrong about him and that he is no longer her student. After Mordo storms off, the Ancient One goes into a room filled with books and various workers. She approaches one, Wong (Chiu-Wai) and orders him to erase Baron Mordo from the records. Wong states that he thought Mordo was her student, to which the Ancient One replies "not anymore". The Ancient One turns and looks out into the distance, saying that eventually, she will find the next Sorcerer Supreme, no matter what it takes. The camera zooms in on the moon, which turns into a purple mist to form the title of the film.
